‘The Prince’s House’ at Earl’s Court London is a prototype of ground-breaking new home design currently being pioneered by the Foundation at the Building Research Establishment in Watford, United Kingdom.
The Natural House is a live demonstration model at the Ideal Home Show offering an achievable alternative to typical contemporary accommodation.
It is HRH The Prince of Wales’s answer to eco-living – a traditionally built low carbon home made from natural materials .
With a highly insulated roof, walls that are simple, solid clay block structures trapping pockets of air that keep warm in winter and cool in summer and dramatically reduce heating bills. The roof and floor are insulated with lime-hemp and sheep’s wool.
HRH’s design team selected WoJo™ as the fabric of choice for its low carbon footprint, durability and handsomeness. WoJo™ fits perfectly within the sustainable home. Woven from recycled coffee sacks blended with high quality New Zealand Wool, our award winning recycled upholstery fabric looked wonderful as a fresh new dress for a loved Egg Chair.
